Stuffed banana peppers
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- black pepper - 2 tsp
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- peppers - 4 doz
- medium cabbage heads - 2 item
- salad oil put this on cabbage - 1 c
- pinch of powdered alum - 1 item
How to make stuffed banana peppers:
Soak peppers in salt water after removing seeds. Prepare filling all ingredients together. Stuff peppers and pack in jars with sprig of fresh dill and small amount of garlic in the bottom of jars or 1 teaspoon dill seed.Mix 1 cup water, 2 cups sugar and 2 cups vinegar. Pour over stuffed peppers. Add a pinch of powdered alum and seal. You may boil for 10 minutes but not necessary. It will help them keep longer.
