Strawberry pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- water - 3/4 c
- powdered sugar - 1/4 c
- red food coloring - 1 tsp
- strawberries
How to make strawberry pie:
Filling:1 qt. strawberries3/4 c. water1 c. sugar1/2 tsp. salt1 tsp. red food coloring3 Tbsp. cornstarch Crust: Mix together butter, sugar and vanilla. Mix and add flour, salt and nuts. Chill 30 to 45 minutes. Pat in ungreased 9-inch pan. Prick and bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.Filling: Separate 1 cup of berries from the quart for use in filling. Take remainder of berries and wash, dry, slice and put in baked shell. Cover with filling.
Add 1 cup of berries to the other filling ingredients. Cook in saucepan until thick; pour in baked shell over other berries. Chill pie before serving.
