Stir-fried beef and broccoli
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- cold water - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- ground ginger - 1/4 tsp
- orange juice - 1 c
- garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- hot cooked rice - 3 c
- frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained - 1 lb
- boneless beef sirloin steak - 1 lb
How to make stir-fried beef and broccoli:
Mix cold water, cornstarch and soy sauce; reserve. Trim fat from beef steak. Cut into strips 2 inches long. Cut strips across the grain into 1/8-inch slices.Heat skillet over medium heat until hot. Add 2 tablespoons oil; rotate skillet to coat side. Add beef, ginger and garlic powder; stir-fry about 3 minutes, or until beef is brown. Add broccoli; stir-fry 2 minutes. Stir in orange juice; heat to boiling. Stir in cornstarch mixture; cook and stir about 1 minute, or until thick. Serve over rice.
