Spinach salad
Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- salad oil - 1/2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- small onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- ketchup - 1/3 c
- slices bacon, fried and crumbled - 6 item
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
- hard-cooked eggs, peeled and diced - 4 item
- can bean sprouts, drained or 2 c - 1 oz
- fresh spinach leaves, torn
How to make spinach salad:
Salad:2 qt. fresh spinach leaves, torn1 (16 oz.) can bean sprouts, drained or 2 c. fresh bean sprouts1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained4 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and diced6 slices bacon, fried and crumbled1 small onion, thinly sliced In a bottle or jar, combine all dressing ingredients. Shake well to mix. Set aside. In a large salad bowl, toss all salad ingredients. Just before serving, pour dressing over salad and toss.
