Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- diced onion - 1/2 c
- grated cheese - 1/4 c
- ground beef - 1/2 lb
- tomato sauce
- red pepper - 1/4 tsp
- diced green peppers - 1/3 c
- River rice or 1 1/2 c - 1/4 c
How to make spanish rice:
Saute onion and peppers. Brown meat in oil. Add sauce, water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Stir in cheese and rice. Cover. Cook on stove on low heat for 30 minutes.Minute Rice: Cook longer. Remove from heat. Let stand 8 to 10 minutes.
