Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • beaten eggs - 2 item
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/3 c
  • garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • shredded Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 c
  • spaghetti - 6 oz
  • small curd cottage cheese - 1 c
  • can diced tomatoes - 1 1/2

How to make spaghetti pie:

Cook spaghetti in a large amount of salted water for 10 to 12 minutes or just until tender. Drain. Stir margarine into hot spaghetti. Stir in beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese. Form spaghetti mixture into a "crust" in a greased 10-inch pie plate. Spread with cottage cheese.

In skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat through.

Turn meat mixture into spaghetti crust. Cover edges with foil. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Mozzarella cheese. Bake about 5 minutes longer until cheese is melted.
