  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • margarine, melted - 1/3 c
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
  • medium sweet potatoes - 2 item
  • sugar, firmly packed - 1 c

How to make southern sweet potato pie:

Boil sweet potatoes until done; remove skin and mash until all lumps are dissolved. Add sugar and margarine or butter. Continue beating; add milk, nutmeg, vanilla and eggs and beat until smooth. Pour in 9-inch unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425° until done, about 35 minutes.
