  • sugar - 1/2 1
  • eggs - 3 item
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • pecans - 1 c
  • unbaked pie shell - 1 item
  • dark Karo syrup - 1 c
  • butter, melted and cooled - 4 Tbsp

How to make southern pecan pie:

Mix eggs, syrup, butter, sugar and salt. Add nuts and stir. Pour into prepared pie shell and bake in a preheated 450° oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake for 30 minutes.

Allow pie to cool on rack for at least 30 minutes before serving.
