  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 c
  • eggs, beaten - 4 item
  • light corn syrup - 1 c
  • pecan halves - 1 c
  • unbaked pastry shell - 1 item

How to make southern pecan pie:

Combine butter, sugar and corn syrup; cook over low heat. Stir constantly until sugar is dissolved; cool. Add eggs, vanilla and salt. Mix. Pour filling into pastry shell and top with pecan halves. Bake at 325° for 50 to 55 minutes.
