Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • warm water
  • bread flour - 4 c
  • whole wheat flour - 2 c
  • potato flakes - 3 Tbsp
  • yeast - 2 pkg
  • instant potato flakes - 3 Tbsp
  • Mix 1 cup warm water, 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons instant potato flakes

How to make sourdough starter:

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Mix 1 cup warm water, 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons instant potato flakes. Add to yeast mixture. Put in glass jar with lid. Let sit all day with lid closed. Then refrigerate for 3 to 5 days. Remove from refrig
