  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • warm water - 2 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • lukewarm water - 1/2 c
  • Starter - 1 c
  • instant potatoes - 3 Tbsp
  • Feed 2 or 3 times before making bread to avoid depleting your Starter
  • bread flour do not sift - 6 c

How to make sourdough bread:

Mix well and let set out of refrigerator all day, 8 to 12 hours, until very bubbly. Feed 2 or 3 times before making bread to avoid depleting your Starter. Take out one cup to make bread and return the rest to the refrigerator.Sourdough Bread:1/4 c. sugar1/2 c. oil1 c. Starter1 1/2 c. warm water6 c. bread flour (do not sift)2 tsp. salt In a large bowl, make a stiff batter of all ingredients. Grease a large bowl. Put dough in and turn to grease. Cover lightly with wax paper and let stand 8 hours. Do not refrigerate. After it has risen, punch down and knead a little. Divide into 3 parts and knead every part on a floured board 8 to 10 times. Put into greased loaf pan and brush with oil. Let rise. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.
