  • warm water - 2 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • powdered mashed potato mix - 3 Tbsp
  • Let sit out 8 hours, lightly covered, then refrigerate
  • light corn oil - 1 c
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • bread flour - 6 c

How to make sourdough bread:

To Feed: Every few days, add 1 cup warm water, 3/4 cup sugar and 3 tablespoons mashed potato powder. Let sit out 8 hours, lightly covered, then refrigerate.To Make Bread:1 c. Starter Mix1 1/2 c. warm water1 c. light corn oil1 Tbsp. salt6 c. bread flour Mix the Starter mix, water, light corn oil and salt. Add the bread flour, one cup at a time. Knead well. Let rise, covered by a towel, in a warm place 8 hours or until doubled in size. Divide into 3 loaf pans and allow to rise another 8 hours, covered. Bake at 350° until well browned.
