Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 6 c
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 3/4 c
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • yeast - 1 pkg

How to make sourdough biscuits:

Dissolve 1 cup warm water with yeast. In large bowl mix buttermilk, oil, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Add yeast mixture. Stir in flour 1 cup at a time until dough will knead without being sticky. Roll out and cut biscuits. Let raise. Bake at 350° until brown. Dough can be refrigerated for a week.
