  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp
  • shortening, butter or margarine - 1 c

How to make snickerdoodles:

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs well; in separate bowl mix flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to shortening mixture and combine thoroughly. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll into 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon that have been mixed together. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
