Smothered okra
Ingredients/Components
- oil - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- large chopped onion - 1 item
- tomato, peeled and chopped - 1 item
- fresh, sliced okra - 2 lb
How to make smothered okra:
Saute onions and tomatoes together in oil, about 2 or 3 minutes. Add okra, stir well and cook on medium heat in a partially covered pot, about 45 minutes or until okra is no longer slimy. Season with salt and pepper. Makes 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Tomato, Greens.
