Shanghai casserole
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 2 tsp
- can chow mein noodles - 1 oz
- salad oil - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 c
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef
- cooked rice - 2 c
- celery slices - 2 c
- condensed cream of mushroom soup - 1 c
How to make shanghai casserole:
Brown meat in hot oil. Add onion, garlic and celery; cook until tender. Stir in soup, thawed vegetable, rice and seasoning. Turn into greased 2 1/2 quart casserole. Cover and bake in moderate oven at 350° for 25 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with chow mein noodles; return to oven for about 5 minutes.
