Seafood gumbo
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 3 tsp
- flour - 7 Tbsp
- water - 2 qt
- oil - 6 Tbsp
- parsley flakes - 1 item
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- clove garlic - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 4 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- medium onions, chopped - 2 item
- medium green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- red pepper to taste - 1 item
- Tabasco - 1 item
- shrimp, peeled and deveined - 3 lb
- cans whole tomatoes - 2 1/2
- frozen okra
- oysters optional - 1 pt
- scallops, halved - 2 lb
How to make seafood gumbo:
In heavy bottomed 4-quart pot, make a dark roux of flour and oil, stirring constantly, so as not to burn. When brown, add celery, onions, green pepper and garlic. Stir this roux until vegetables become slightly browned. Add juice from tomatoes and tomaRecipe categories: One Dish meal, Gumbo, Stew.
