How to make scripture cake:

Cream the butter and sugar; beat until light. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Add honey, milk, flour, spices and baking powder. Beat until well mixed. Add figs, raisins and nuts. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Do not overbake.
