Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- stick butter or margarine - 3/4 item
- currants - 3/4 c
- white sifted flour - 3 c
How to make scones:
Mix all dry ingredients. Rub in butter. Wash raisins (currants) and dry; mix in raisins (currants). Knead for a few minutes. Roll to 1/2 inch. Cut into squares/circles. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Scones.
