Savory brown rice
Ingredients/Components
- margarine
- hot water
- can mushroom pieces, drained - 1 oz
- beef bouillon cube - 1 item
- Minute instant brown rice
How to make savory brown rice:
Melt margarine in large skillet. Add onions and mushrooms. Cook and stir until onions are tender. Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water and add to onion mixture. Bring to boil. Stir in rice; simmer 5 minutes. Cover; remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes.Microwave: Reduce margarine to tablespoon. Mix margarine, onions and mushrooms in microwavable dish. Cover and cook at High for 2 minutes. Meanwhile, dissolve bouillon cube in hot water. Add to mushroom mixture with cover and heat 10 minutes longer, stirring halfway through cooking time. Makes 8 servings.
