Sausage-rice casserole
Ingredients/Components
- hot sausage - 1 lb
- water
- regular rice - 1 c
- almonds optional - 2/3 c
- chicken noodle dry soup mix - 2 pkg
- chopped celery
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
How to make sausage-rice casserole:
Crumble sausage in skillet and brown. In saucepan, bring water to a boil; add rice and soup mix. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until water is absorbed. Add celery, onions and peppers to sausage. Cook until tender. Mix well. Place in casserole dish and top with almonds.
