Sausage quiche
Ingredients/Components
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- 9-inch pie crust
- hot sausage - 1/2 lb
How to make sausage quiche:
Preheat oven to 400°. Line 9-inch pie crust with wax paper and top with dry beans (enough to weight the wax paper). Bake 10 minutes. Carefully remove the wax paper and beans. (I save the beans to use again.) Reduce oven to 375°.While crust is baking, brown hot sausage and drain on paper towels. Add onion to sausage while browning. Combine eggs, evaporated milk and Cheddar cheese. Pour into partially baked crust to which you have added sausage and onion. Bake 25 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge of pastry comes out clean. Let rest 10 minutes before cutting.
