Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 4 tsp
  • prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • bread crumbs - 2 Tbsp
  • can tomato soup - 1 item
  • lean ground beef - 1 lb
  • finely chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • Shape into 50 meatballs
  • prepared vinegar - 1 Tbsp

How to make saucy cocktail meatballs:

Mix beef, crumbs, egg and salt. Shape into 50 meatballs. Place in shallow pan. Broil or bake until browned. Turn over. Spoon off fat.

Note: Can use precooked frozen cocktail meatballs instead.Sauce:1/3 c. finely chopped green pepper1/3 c. finely chopped onion2 Tbsp. margarine1 can tomato soup4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce2 Tbsp. brown sugar1 Tbsp. prepared mustard1 Tbsp. prepared vinegar In saucepan, cook peppers and onion in margarine until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over meatballs. Cover and bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

Cocktail frankfurters (1 1/2 pounds) cut in 1-inch pieces can be substituted for meatball mixture.
