  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 12 oz
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • firmly packed brown sugar - 2/3 c
  • Rice Krispies - 2 c
  • miniature marshmallows - 3 c
  • salted peanuts - 2 c
  • Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off
  • margarine or softened butter - 1/2 c

How to make salted peanut chews:

Heat oven to 350°. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In a large bowl, combine all crust ingredients, except marshmallows, until crumb mixture forms. Press into bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately sprinkle marshmallows on top and bake 1 to 2 minutes longer or until marshmallows begin to puff. Cool while preparing your topping.Topping:2/3 c. Karo syrup (corn)1/4 c. margarine or softened butter2 tsp. vanilla12 oz. pkg. peanut butter chips2 c. Rice Krispies2 c. salted peanuts In large saucepan, heat Karo syrup, margarine, vanilla and peanut butter chips just until chips are melted or smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in Rice Krispies and peanuts. Immediately spoon warm topping over crust and spread to cover. Chill and cut into bars. Tastes like a Payday candy bar.
