Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 3 tsp
- egg yolks - 2 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- sour milk - 1 c
- unbeaten egg whites - 2 item
- salted peanuts with skins, chopped or ground - 1 c
- Add egg and egg yolks to creamed mixture
How to make salted peanut cake:
Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg and egg yolks to creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients; mix or blend well. Put in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Icing:1 c. sugar1/4 tsp. salt2 unbeaten egg whites1/8 tsp. cream of tartar3 tsp. water1 tsp. vanilla Put all in a double boiler and boil 7 minutes. Spread on cooled cake. Sprinkle with chopped or ground salted peanuts with skins on. Other preferred white frostings may be used but this one uses the egg whites.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Nuts.
