Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 TBSP
  • butter - 3 TBSP
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • butter, melted - 1 TBSP
  • dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • soft bread crumbs - 2 c
  • onion, chopped - 1 TBSP
  • can salmon, drained and flaked - 1 lb
  • Combine milk and egg; add to salmon mixture and mix thoroughly
  • salt, and a dash of pepper - 1/2 tsp

How to make salmon loaf:

In a bowl; combine salmon, crumbs, onion, butter and salt. Combine milk and egg; add to salmon mixture and mix thoroughly. Shape into a loaf on a greased shallow baking pan or in a loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 35-40 min.Piquant Sauce For Salmon Loaf:2 TBSP. green onion, chopped3 TBSP. butter2 TBSP. flour1/2 tsp. dry mustard1/2 tsp. salt, and a dash of pepper1-1/4 c. milk1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Cook onion in butter until tender, but not browned. Blend in flour, mustard, salt and pepper. Add milk and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and bubbles.
