Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • seedless raisins - 1/2 c
  • cooked rice - 2 c
  • large eggs or 4 egg yolks - 2 item

How to make rice pudding:

Mix eggs, sugar and salt. Add scalded milk; add nutmeg, vanilla, rice and raisins. Pour into 1-quart buttered casserole; sprinkle with nutmeg. Set in pan of water (1/2 casserole in water). Bake 1 hour 10 minutes at 350°. Makes 6 servings.
