- sugar - 1/3 c
- eggs - 2 item
- granulated sugar - 1/3 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- packed brown sugar - 1/3 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- oil - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- grated lemon peel - 1 tsp
How to make ribbon nut bread:
A center of sweetened cream cheese makes this nut bread a sumptuous treat.Combine cream cheese, granulated sugar and egg, mixing until well blended.
Combine dry ingredients. Add combined oil, milk, eggs and peel, mixing just until moistened. Fold in nuts. Spread 1 cup batter into greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Top with cream cheese mixture. Cover with remaining butter. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Makes 1 loaf.
Substitute light Neufchatel cheese for cream cheese if desired.
