Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- soda - 5 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 qt
- boiling water - 2 c
- shortening - 1 c
- ginger - 1 Tbsp
- 40% bran flakes - 4 c
- 100% bran - 2 c
How to make bran muffins:
Pour boiling water over 100% bran and cool. Cream sugar and shortening. Mix bran into eggs. Add flour, 40% bran flakes, soda, salt, buttermilk, nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon. Refrigerate up to 30 days. Bake in greased muffin tins 25 to 30 minutes at 375° to 400°.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Muffins.
