Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- flour
- egg yolks - 4 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- quick oats - 4 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- rhubarb
- Meringue:4 egg whites
How to make rhubarb torte:
Filling:5 c. rhubarb1 1/2 c. sugar4 Tbsp. quick oats4 egg yolks1 c. milk Meringue:4 egg whites8 Tbsp. sugar Mix flour, baking powder and sugar. Add shortening, salt and egg until mixed. Press into 7 1/2 x 11-inch pan. Spread the rhubarb over dough. Combine egg yolks and milk and combine with rest of filling ingredients and spread over dough and rhubarb. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
