Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 c
- salt - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 c
- celery salt - 1 tsp
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- thinly sliced onions - 2 c
- powdered alum - 1/4 tsp
- to 16 thinly sliced cucumbers - 14 item
How to make refrigerator pickles:
Sprinkle salt over cucumbers and onions. Let set 3 hours. Mix together remaining ingredients to make syrup. Rinse cucumbers, then pour over syrup and store in refrigerator until needed. (Do not cook syrup.)Recipe categories: Vegetables, Summer, Seasonal.
