Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar
- oil - 2 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- cider vinegar - 1 tsp
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- plain flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- Frosting:1 stick butter
- cream cheese - 8 oz
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
How to make red velvet cake:
Frosting:1 stick butter8 oz. cream cheese1 box confectioners sugar In a large bowl, combine sugar, oil, eggs, vinegar, food coloring and vanilla. Mix at low speed only until blended. In smaller bowl, mix flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add to liquid mixture alternately with the buttermilk until all blended. Do not beat. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes in 3 layer cake pans.
