- sugar
- salad oil - 2 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- bottle red food coloring - 1 oz
- flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- stick butter or margarine - 1 item
- pkg - 1 oz
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream sugar and oil in a mixing bowl, add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar, add food coloring and beat well. Sift the flour, soda, salt and cocoa together and add to cream mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Add vanilla and beat well. Pour into 2 greased and floured cake pans.
