  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Make paste of cocoa and vinegar; add oleo, flour, salt and soda to mixture
  • stick margarine - 1/2 item
  • box 4x sugar - 1 item

How to make red velvet cake:

Cream sugar and eggs, beating until fluffy. Make paste of cocoa and vinegar; add oleo, flour, salt and soda to mixture. Add buttermilk, vanilla and food coloring. Bake in 350° oven until done.Cream Cheese Frosting:1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz.)1/2 stick margarine1 box 4x sugar1 tsp. vanilla Beat cream cheese and margarine until smooth. Add sugar and mix well. Add vanilla; beat until smooth. Spread on cake. May be topped with nuts or coconut.
