- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- Add color, eggs and vanilla
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream Crisco and sugar. Add color, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, cocoa and salt 3 times. Add dry ingredients and buttermilk and alternately, dry ingredients last. Beat 2 minutes. Fold in vinegar and soda. Do not beat. Bake at 350° for approximaRecipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, American.
