  • chopped nuts - 3/4 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • plain flour
  • red food coloring - 1 oz
  • Wesson oil
  • Add cocoa and food coloring

How to make red velvet cake:

Cream oil, sugar and eggs. Add cocoa and food coloring. Add salt, flour, buttermilk and vanilla. Alternately add soda and vinegar. Blend; do not beat hard. Bake at 350°.Cream Cheese Frosting:1 box confectioners sugar1 stick margarine1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 tsp. vanilla3/4 c. chopped nuts Mix.
