Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 lb
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- plain flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- Icing:1 stick oleo
- box confectioners sugar - 1 lb
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Icing:1 stick oleo3 tsp. cocoa2 Tbsp. milk1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together; add with milk. Start with flour and end with flour. Cook in a tube pan at 300° for 2 hours. Spread with icing while still warm.Icing: Melt butter; mix all ingredients and beat well.
