Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- cocoa - 2 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- stick oleo - 1 item
- sifted plain flour - 2 c
- bottle red food coloring - 2 oz
- box confectioners sugar, sifted - 1 item
- Sift dry ingredients
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix eggs, one at a time, to oleo, sugar and coloring. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with cup of buttermilk. Bake at 350° for 25 to 35 minutes.Frosting:8 oz. cream cheese1 stick oleo1 box confectioners sugar, sifted1 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Whip together until creamy.
