Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cream cheese
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • vinegar - 1 tsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • plain flour
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • Crisco oil - 1 c
  • bottle red food coloring - 1 item

How to make red velvet cake:

Icing:8 oz. cream cheese1 stick butter2 Tbsp. vanilla1 box confectioners sugar1 c. chopped nuts Cream sugar, oil and eggs. Make paste with cocoa and red coloring. Add to sugar mix then add other ingredients. Grease and flour two 9-inch pans. Bake 30 minutes at 350°.

Icing: Mix butter, cream cheese and vanilla together. Add sugar then nuts.
