Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 8 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- evaporated milk
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- pecans
- Crisco oil
- cake flour
- 1/2 boxes confectioners sugar - 1 item
- bottle red color - 1 item
- In bowl mix flour, salt and cocoa
How to make red velvet cake:
Combine sugar and oil. In bowl mix flour, salt and cocoa. In another bowl mix buttermilk and soda. To oil mixture add eggs and vinegar, then alternately add flour and milk to mixture. Add vanilla and coloring. Bake at 325°.Frosting:1 stick margarine8 oz. pkg. cream cheese1 tsp. vanilla1 1/2 Tbsp. evaporated milk1 1/2 c. pecans1 1/2 boxes confectioners sugar Mix all ingredients thoroughly and spread over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, American.
