  • plain flour
  • Wesson oil
  • sugar
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • white vinegar - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • red food coloring - 2 oz
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • Frosting:1 stick margarine
  • cream cheese - 8 oz
  • box powdered sugar, sifted - 1 item
  • pecans - 1 c

How to make red velvet cake:

Frosting:1 stick margarine8 oz. cream cheese1 box powdered sugar, sifted1 tsp. vanilla1 c. pecans Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs one at a time and milk. Sift flour, salt, soda and cocoa together, then alternate milk and dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Then add food coloring and vinegar; beat well. Add vanilla.

Frosting: Cream margarine, cream cheese and vanilla. Add sugar. Last, add pecans.
