Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- raisins - 2 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- quick oats
- Sift together the dry ingredients
How to make raisin bars:
Raisin Filling:1/4 c. granulated sugar1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 c. water2 c. raisins Cream the margarine and sugar. Sift together the dry ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture. Add oats and 1 tablespoon water. Mix until crumbly. Press half of the mixture into an 8-inch square pan. Spread with Raisin Filling. Mix remaining crumbs with 1 tablespoon water and press over filling. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Raisin Filling: Combine the sugar and cornstarch. Stir in the water and raisins. Cook over medium heat until thick.Icing:1 c. confectioners sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. nutmeg1 tsp. vanilla Combine and add enough milk to thin. When cool, drizzle over bars.
