Saucy pudding cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 3/4 c
- brown sugar
- water - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- egg - 1 item
- raisins - 1/2 c
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- cloves - 1/8 tsp
- quick oats - 3/4 c
How to make saucy pudding cake:
Beat 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar and the softened margarine at medium speed until blended. Stir together flour and next 5 ingredients. Add to sugar mixture alternately with 1/2 cup water, beginning and ending with flour mixture, beating at low speed until blended. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts. Spoon into a lightly greased 8-inch square pan. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup brown sugar. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over top. Do not stir. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Recipe may be doubled. Bake in a 9 x 13 pan for 50 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Low cholesterol.
