cinnamon - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
soda - 1 tsp
egg - 1 item
shortening - 1/2 c
sifted flour
dark brown sugar, firmly packed - 1 c

How to make quick coffee cake:

Sift flour. Add salt and brown sugar and cut in shortening until mixture resembles crumbs. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping. To remainder add soda and cinnamon. Then add egg and buttermilk. Stir until well blended. Turn into greased pan (9 x 13 x 2-inch). Sprinkle with 1/2 cup crumbs. Bake 30 minutes in 400° oven.
