Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 c
- large eggs - 5 item
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1/2 lb
- lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
How to make pound cake:
Sift flour 3 times. Cream margarine, sugar and Crisco. Add eggs one at a time. Add flavoring. Add flour, salt and baking powder (mixed together) alternately with milk. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours.Note: For chocolate pound cake, add 1/2 cup cocoa.
