  • peeled, diced apples - 3 c
  • all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • Crisco
  • sugar - 2 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • pecans - 1 c
  • raisins - 1 c
  • large eggs - 3 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • vanilla
  • brown sugar
  • margarine - 5 Tbsp
  • milk - 2 Tbsp

How to make fresh apple cake:

Topping:1/2 c. brown sugar5 Tbsp. margarine2 Tbsp. milk Sprinkle soda and salt over diced apples and let set. Combine all other ingredients in another bowl. Add the combined ingredients to the apples. Mix by hand. Batter will be thick and heavy. Spoon into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool 15 to 20 minutes on wire rack. Pour topping over cake while still warm.

Topping: Combine all ingredients and cook 2 1/2 minutes or until thick. Pour over cake.
