Potatoes au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/4 lb
- sliced potatoes, boiled
How to make potatoes au gratin:
Melt butter; blend in flour and salt. Stir until smooth. Turn to low heat and slowly add milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until thick and smooth. Remove from heat. Add cheese and stir until cheese melts. Arrange potatoes in 1 1/2-quart buttered casserole dish. Pour cheese sauce over potatoes; top with crumbs. Dot with additional butter. Bake in 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Side dish, Potato, Vegetables.
