Plain cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 3 c
• eggs - 6 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• milk - 1 c
• sticks margarine - 2 item
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• sifted cake flour - 4 c
• Crisco - 1/2 c
• lemon - 1 tsp

How to make plain cake:

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well. Sift dry ingredients three times. Add this and milk alternately. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours. (I use Red Band plain flour.)
