  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • maraschino cherries - 1 item
  • pineapple juice - 1 item
  • cherry juice - 1 item
  • pineapple slices - 1 item

How to make pineapple upside-down cake:

In an ovenproof skillet, melt margarine; add brown sugar and mix thoroughly. Arrange pineapple slices and cherries over mixture. Cream together until fluffy the shortening, sugar and eggs. Add flour, vanilla and juices; mix well. Pour batter over pineapple and brown sugar mixture. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until cake tests done.
