Pickled fish
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1 c
- red wine vinegar - 1 qt
- onions, sliced - 2 item
- pickling spice - 1 item
- sliced orange - 1 item
- green pepper in strips - 1 item
- salted salmon - 3 lb
How to make pickled fish:
Cut salmon into bite size pieces. Rinse well and let stand overnight in container of cold water. Drain.Mix vinegar and sugar together, stirring until sugar is dissolved. After fish is drained, start to load jars with a few onions, a strip or two of green pepper, a slice of orange and a good tablespoon of pickling spice. Add large cup of fish. Layer to almost top of jar. Add vinegar over the fish. Make sure all bubbles are out.
